This week gave us many new songs, albums, and live moments, so in case you missed it, here's your Saturday summary and you better be comfy because its potentially our longest one yet!
A collab we have been not so patiently waiting for ever since it was released, our two favorite "nice to meet ya" singers, Myles Smith and Niall Horan dropped Drive Safe and the visualizer dropped this week! You can see how much fun they had making this song and we have just as much fun every time we listen! The visualizer is so perfectly them with the warm film vibes, a studio, and many friends joining them! by the end we aren’t sure who’s smiles are bigger, theirs or ours!
In anticipation of his upcoming album the weight of the woods out march 27th Dermot Kennedy released Refuge. Its a very real and raw track full of the type of vulnerability that is so rare in the age of AI and the vocals are just stunning too!
this week saw the release of Megan Moroney's new album cloud 9 and one of the new tracks was I Only Miss You featuring Ed Sheeran. its a very delicate track and their voices blend so beautifully.
on the topic of new albums and collab tracks, this week Mumford & Sons released their new album Prizefighter and one of the featured tracks was Badlands featuring Gracie Abrams. Their voices mix so well in this delicate track!
in yet another collab, this week Calum Scott released Unsteady (Aitch Version) their voices mix so well and its a very nice and breezy listen!
This Week Yungblud unexpectedly dropped Idols Part 2 (See yesterdays article for the full review) and one of our favorite tracks off the album was Blueberry Hill. blueberry hill is so full of layers! the track very much reminds me of Bowies life on mars with certain vocal moments as well as the melody and yet the drums sound more like heroes which is interesting as Yungblud literally sings the word Heroes!
Can you believe its been 10 years of Blue Neighbourhood? In celebration Troye Sivan has announced the 10 year anniversary copies and one of the featured tracks is Swimming Pools (You are not dreaming, he did finally acknowledge this track exists) this track has been a longtime fan favorite as an unreleased track so to now have an official version fans have been losing their minds in every comment section!
Cruz Beckham released for your love and the video is absolutely art with a nod to one of his brothers at the start and a nostalgic MTV Vibe. The track itself is a fun easy listening Britpop track!
Sara Beth dropped I lit the fire and its very reminiscent of Alanis Morrissette. Its super catchy and an easy listen so this is sure to shake up your playlist all week!
This week the Grammys live performances started being uploaded online with the first being Best New Artist Olivia Dean's Man I Need. This performance was so fun to watch as her stage presence is absolutely everything and the track itself is insanely catchy!
The next Grammy performance was ROSÉ & Bruno Mars with APT. this was a very rock remix (which somehow made this intensely catchy song even more of an earworm) and like the previous performance the stage presence was insane!
Continuing with performances this one has been stuck in our heads since the moment it happened live and when you watch it back with the whole audience dancing in their seats you can see why. In order to Honor Ozzy Osbourne, Post Malone, Slash, Andrew Watt, Duff McKagan and Chad Smith, preformed a cover of War Pigs. They all mixed so well and had the Osbournes (As well as us) in tears.
and to wrap up the week Sabrina Carpenters performance of Manchild is here! This performance was everything from stage design to stage presence Sabrina really embodies the showgirl theatrics!
