Welcome to the first Saturday summary of 2026!! A lot has gone on in the music world since we last gathered here so let us recap.
Taylor swift gave us a glimpse into her world with her end of an era docuseries. Fans enjoyed the glimpse into all the lives of each and every crucial person it took to pull this off, the special guests and the real and raw chaos, and logistics, of how the eras tour came to be the global moment that it was!
Sabrina Carpenter dropped us a gift on Christmas eve with her song such a funny way a slow Ballad with her usual quick wit in her lyrics! its abba adject with nods to her other songs such as nobody's son sampling, please please please vibes and the sass of goodbye!
In a dark and unexpected twist, the Yungblud and smashing pumpkins version of zombie has blessed our emo hearts! already a vocal moment and emotional song, the addition of the smashing pumpkins only solidifies that more!
Also in collab world Shawn Mendes and Niall Horan gave us This Town (Live from London) it includes Shawn's speech on their history and how they met which is such a sweet moment. with the split screen video showing fans and the performance it feels like such an intimate video especially at 3:37 when Shawn says "i can't sing when you look at me like that"
Switching directions for a moment Harry Styles is back?! without any prior warning it seems Harry stopped "running" from the question "HS4 when" with his new video Forever, Forever. The emotional video includes footage from his final love on tour show including his goodbye piano piece and leaving us with on simple note, We Belong Together!! while we are yet to get the details on this return we are all preparing our calendars for a Harry New Year!!
In a world of stars and iconic moments the most iconic music video of 2025 dropped! between their larger than life looks and sass, big pink bus, their Beatles esque moment, and of course their iconic times square concert, this one shot video is sure to capture your attention!
It was a busy week for one star in particular as they went on a little sidequest dropping new music with zero warning! The carry you away demo is such a beautifully pop punk emo sound which is exactly what a longtime Michael Clifford fan would expect. With Travis Barker being credited as a composer its no wonder this is hitting hard!
And the icing on the cake of our band heavy week, Nick Jonas gave us Gut Punch, a melancholic song that lives up to its name with raw and honest lyrics it feels like an open diary entry especially with lyrics such as "how did I get so good at being mean to myself"
That's been the first Saturday summary of 2026, we hope the groove continues!
